Springtime in Abergavenny and a host of golden Daffodils
Welcome to the area of South Wales and especially Abergavenny Monmouthshire a unique town that still values its independent traders has fabulous and interesting markets that happen nearly every day of the week in the original and uniquely decorated market hall. This area has something for everyone. For the historians we have a great selection of castles and other historical sites and a World Heritage Site at Blaenavon. Our food and eating out offering is second to none with the Abergavenny Food Festival putting the area on the map.
Being on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park it allows you to enjoy the great outdoors relatively easily with great walks on our local Skirrid and Sugarloaf mountains.
Swanmeadow Cottages are just a five minute drive to Abergavenny allows you a great location to stay and enjoy the area. Here on our working beef and sheep farm on the banks of the River Usk we can give you a taste of life on a farm. During the early spring months of March April and May the farm seems to come alive with new life. The flock of 750 ewes will be lambing and who doesn’t want to see lambs gamboling in the fields on a sunny day. By the end of March we start to calve our cows and with the weather improving and the days getting longer new life in our fields is always a rewarding site.
Come for a stay and we can take you on a farm tour and explain whats going on and answer all your farm related questions. We are also keyholders to a very special Friend of the Friendless church down our lane which you can visit and see the special artwork that is incredibly rare.
